About Accent Music Instruction
Accent Music Instruction began in 2019. Matt had been teaching within other music studios years prior to that but was disappointed by the lack of high standards from other studios. Matt founded Accent Music Instruction because he wants to provide the top quality music Instruction that he thinks is missing.
About Matt
Matt McDermott has always been passionate about music. He first studied piano at age seven and has now been playing for over twenty years.
Matt enjoyed playing in school bands in which he played clarinet. In middle school Matt won the Band Director’s Award. In high school Matt was awarded the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award, and The Band Director’s Award. Matt was accepted into Allshore band in both middle school and high school.
In 2015 Matt earned his bachelor’s degree in music education at Rowan University. Since graduation Matt has mostly taught. However Matt also works as an accompanist for Ballet Classes at Georgian Court University and as a performer of classical piano as well as rock/pop keyboards.
Matt has played in a successful cover band called Jack for about two years. He’s also played in an original progressive rock band called No More Pain for about ten years.
Matt loves playing and listening to music and enjoys passing that passion on to others.
